Currently, I am engaging three studies exploring: (1) use of critical theories in social work practice research, (2) engagement with critical pedagogies in social work education literature, and (3) experiences of ethnoracial minorities in social work education programs.

Research topics of interest include:

  • privilege and oppression throughout social systems
  • experiences of oppressed students, faculty, and staff in higher education
  • education as both oppressive and liberatory
  • research as both hegemonic and transformative
  • social justice education

Research design considerations include:

  • interpretive qualitative methods
  • intersectionality as methodology
  • critical theoretical orientations
  • transformative frameworks
  • community-based participatory action
