I’m most interested in teaching courses about understanding and addressing social problems within and through educational institutions. As a teacher, my goal is to facilitate transformative learning experiences in order to affect the paradigms through which students experience the world. My engagement with progressive pedagogies, such as intersectionality as pedagogy, is meant to encourage students to critically analyze social realities and engage in social change efforts. Though I have strong opinions about the various topics that may be explored in my courses, I do not force any one way of thinking. Instead, students are guided through a process that helps them develop their own opinions and corresponding action agendas.
